Hallelujah – Leonard Cohen – Sheet Music With Notes

Hallelujah

Here you will find sheet music for Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen.

This is another oft-requested piece. I checked out an arrangement by publisher Hal Leonard and it was HARD! So I arranged it for a nice easy piano, about a level 2. Many students will be able to play this in the middle of their second year or third year of piano lessons.

The song “Hallelujah” was written by the great Leonard Cohen, and was covered for the movie “Shrek.” According to his WIKI, it took several years to get the chord progression, melody, and lyrics to their final stages. As a result we have a beautiful song that has stood the test of time. It is still one of the most popular piano requests that I get.

Please be sure to use the pedal so it flows, the video is very robotic since it’s MIDI! I use this piece to teach the 6/8 time signature, as well as get students moving around on the piano. The third version of the sheet music below contains a tutorial on how to play the chords and then how to play the rhythm. For those of you who like MIDI, I have also linked to that. You can play along with Synthesia to see if you are doing it right.

Please comment below and enjoy!  Please, if you like this arrangement, share it! Pin it, tweet it, like it, print it, download it, email it to your friends.
